Science
Science at Wilson means immersion in first-hand exploration, investigation, and inquiry/process skills. From the ever-popular dinosaur unit in Senior Kindergarten to Rube Goldberg machines in 6th grade, our students build on conceptual knowledge in order to generate new questions, develop new investigations, and formulate answers. Young Wilson scientists are frequently learning out of the classroom: You’ll find them in our outdoor classroom studying ecology, in our garden on the lower playground investigating plant life, or on trips to the Saint Louis Science Center, Mastodon State Park, and Elephant Rocks. Our teachers also make the most of our special partnership with Forest Park, so students take many walking field trips there over their years at Wilson.
