Music
Learning to play the xylophone, recorder, guitar, and five types of drums (in a percussion ensemble, no less!). Performing in a musical directed by the composer. Composing one’s own music. Using innovative digital recording tools. These are experiences not of a select few at Wilson, but of every single student. We believe every child possesses the potential for artistry in music, so we make it a priority for them to discover, enjoy, and understand it in every stage of their life at Wilson. Much like learning coding in technology, learning composition skills in music enables our students to become creators. That process has its own set of attendant challenges and joys and gets to the very heart of what it means to grow as a person.
Do you love the idea of your child having the competence and confidence to sing in a choir in front of both peers and parents? Schedule a visit today! Did you know? Our music program philosophy is largely based on the work of teacher and composer Carl Orff. |
