The Wilson Summer Camp provides a fun, kid-centered environment, where campers can take part in physical and creative activities, from crafts and games to sports and water play. In addition, campers also participate in interactive field trips, such as fishing and picnics at Tilles Park, bowling at Tropicana Lanes, and exploring the St. Louis Science Center. There are a number of action-packed enrichment offerings taught by experienced educators, such as math mania, fun with the alphabet, movie making, game design and cooking classes.
The summer camp staff is led by Michael Hinkebein, Wilson senior-kindergarten teacher. The staff of counselors is made up of teachers, graduate students, and college students – many of whom have worked at the camp for a number of years. Parents may sign up their children for an entire summer, or have the flexibility to enroll them in either two-week enrichment activities or on a week-by-week basis.
