Testimonials

a group of three children with the help of a teacher presenting to the school during an assembly

"The gradual process of getting up in front of the whole school to honor your birthday to staying in line with a classmate by yourself with your older buddy right behind you to prompt you in case you forget, to giving a speech on your own that you wrote to the entire school is so gradual that the children don't even realize they are learning to become poised, confident public speakers."

“We’ve loved seeing how our daughter has embraced each year’s MYMAGO theme and now developed into a responsible first grader. She comes home with so many questions about how the world works and we love how the first grade teachers have nurtured her curiosity and research skills!”

"Simply put, we love The Wilson School. Our family has been part of the Wilson community for almost 14 years and several more years to come.  We chose The Wilson School because want our children to be part of a challenging academic curriculum, a community that promotes diversity, social awareness, service and the encouragement for children to be good leaders.  The faculty is very supportive and has proven their dedication to ensure our children will excel academically and developmentally.  More importantly, The Wilson School provides the skills needed for secondary school preparation, college and beyond."

"I have two Wilson graduates and two very different students, but the common thread is that my kids were above and beyond prepared academically for success in secondary school.  The real bonus is that my kids are more socially aware, empathetic, conscientious, and kind.  Wilson helps create great humans."

"At Wilson, the teachers know your child well before they become their teacher. Teachers take the time to get acquainted with the character of each child, their academic capabilities and what they need to work on."

Children and adults walking through downtown Clayton during a scavenger hunt

"I love the walking field trips to places like the Zoo, Forest Park's Oak Savannah, the fire station. Walking allows kids to pay attention to their surroundings in a way that driving doesn't. The trips have also given my child confidence and curiosity exploring distances to/from our regular locales. She wants to walk 2 miles to school together one day!"

We Chose Wilson

The Gregory Family

"We chose Wilson because of the small size and the strong sense of community. I knew we had made the right choice when I felt safe not to hover.

What ties me (to Wilson) is the level of family and community. I have never been very comfortable about allowing my kid to go with others. Wilson made me comfortable enough to do that."

The Haffenreffer Family

"We were immediately drawn to it's close knit community where every child is valued as an individual.

We cannot say enough about this amazing school. It has become a second home to two of our children who have been nurtured and challenged to become the best versions of themselves as learners and citizens of the community."

The Chu Family

"We have never seen an environment for children that supports the childs academic interest, social environment, and core self on equal footing. Looking at Wilson is looking at a school where every child is centered and knows they are being seen by everyone around them. It is an environment that allows kids to be daring and push themselves hard in a place where they can make mistakes and grow from them."
