Athletics
At Wilson, we create opportunities for students to thrive both academically and athletically. Our physical activities foster essential skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience. Students from senior kindergarten to third grade can participate in soccer, basketball, and baseball, while fifth and sixth graders compete in an annual track meet and an interscholastic soccer tournament. Additionally, we offer running programs through Girls on the Run, Let Me Run, and Read Right, Run, ensuring a well-rounded experience for all students.
Athletics Options
Athletics at Wilson
Wilson offers sports through the nearby Clayton League after the school organizes the coaching and teams. Here are some basic parameters that allow us to do so:
- Wilson sends out seasonal registration for soccer, basketball, and baseball
- Registration fees vary for each sport and covers the cost of uniforms
- All sports are coached by Wilson parents/guardians
- Equipment is provided by the coaches but does not include cleats, shin guards, or baseball gloves
- Practices occur once per week at Wilson and games are played either at Shaw Park or the Center of Clayton
- Each team will organize snacks and drinks to be provided by parents/guardians after each game
The Wilson Family Fund
We are very sensitive to the fact that a Wilson education requires a significant financial investment from our families, and are committed to the Wilson experience being achievable for all of our families. This is why, in addition to our tuition assistance program, we have established the Wilson Family Fund to make sure families can access things that come at added cost such as sports, after-school offerings, test prep class, tickets to the auction, and lunch. This fund is made possible by donor gifts specifically for this purpose. If financial concerns keep any family from fully participating in the Wilson experience, we are here to help. You belong at Wilson.
