Wilson campers entering second through sixth grade may sign up for our second Think Camp led by Melika Panneri, Technology Coordinator, and Angie Zinkl, Science Specialist. The goal of Think Camp is for campers to explore, engage and imagine. Campers will be challenged to use critical thinking skills to solve problems, work collaboratively with peers to achieve a goal, and be creative. Activities will range from low-tech to high-tech to no-tech. Outdoor playtime will be included. Snack provided. Campers must bring a lunch and beverage.
Campers will participate in the following sessions each day in small groups. Children will also have an opportunity to explore a Beebot, Probot, and Makey Makeys.
Creative Coding Campers spend their time creating with code using a variety of age appropriate coding applications such as Scratch and Scratch Jr. Campers learn to collaborate with others meaningfully, investigate different problem solving techniques, and persist in the face of difficult tasks. They will explore coding to create art, fashion and design, music, stories, games and more.
littleBits Electronics Learn and invent with electronics through exploring with littleBits. littleBits are electronic modules that snap together and allow unlimited possibilities of creation without soldering, wiring, or programming required. Through hands-on exploring within the engineering process, campers will discover, create, and successfully complete the creative challenge that will ask them to create something that does something. There is an emphasis on thinking, problem-solving, developing, refining, teamwork, and presentation.
