Technology at WilsonThe purpose of the technology program is to ensure that students become computer literate. At Wilson, students learn how to critique, compose and design across the spectrum of multimedia communication. They learn to respect the ever-changing role technology plays in our daily lives. In the early childhood program, students use computers to dictate original stories, draw, play learning games, and listen to stories on CD-ROMs. In first through third grades, students create multimedia presentations and are exposed to desktop publishing, research, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations. In fourth through sixth grade, students refine these skills and are introduced to formal keyboarding, photo manipulation, animation, and video presentations. By the end of sixth grade, students have learned to create a variety of multimedia presentations and have learned to take pride in sharing their finished products with their peers, as well as with larger audiences. |
