Classes & Curriculum |
Physical Education at WilsonOur physical education curriculum provides our students with a variety of physical activities to promote health, fitness and an enthusiasm for lifetime sports. Health concepts are taught by participation in a variety of warm-up games. Fitness is taught as a process, not as a product. We encourage our students to build upon their successes and to set personal goals. Fitness games are played to demonstrate that exercise is fun and to motivate participation in physical activity. Throughout their elementary years, our students are introduced to a variety of sports to promote an interest in lifetime physical fitness: racquet/striking sports, volleyball, hockey, soccer, basketball, bowling, etc. Basic skills are stressed, as well as organized game play, rules and strategy. Sportsmanship and team play are always reinforced. |
