Library / Resource Center at WilsonThe Resource Center houses our library and computer lab. The center provides students and staff with access to information in a variety of formats, empowering them to use information effectively and confidently. We also want them to develop an appreciation for literary and creative works in many different forms. Our students have regularly scheduled class times in the Resource Center, including story time and story time extensions using art, dramatic play and puppets for our youngest children. Our sixth-graders use approved Internet sites, encyclopedias, CD-ROMs, and many other reference materials to write in-depth research papers. The library's central collection includes over 32,000 books, periodicals, magazines, and software. Regular book checkout is available for parents and students. (At least 18,000 more volumes are distributed throughout the nine classrooms.) |
