Third Grade Teacher
B.A., Knox College
M.A., Webster University
Anne Mayes, a Wilson alumna, joined the third grade teaching team in Fall of 2017. She has worked diligently to make this childhood dream to return to her alma mater a reality, and she was delighted to take on her new role in the classroom. She has taught for five years in a magnet school for gifted students, and she is devoted to helping students strive for excellence in all they do. She agrees with Ronnie Lott's statement, "If you believe it, the mind can achieve it," and this helps as she guides her students to set high expectations for themselves and successfully attain their goals.
Outside the classroom, she and her husband enjoy traveling with their son. They take annual road trips and explore the United States. Despite a busy schedule, she always makes time for the pleasures in life: coffee, dessert, time with friends, and great books.
