Founded as one of St. Louis’ first
private,
 formalized early childhood programs, The Wilson School has provided an exceptional education to students for nearly 100 years. At Wilson, we know the importance of academic excellence within a nurturing environment. Special aspects of Wilson shine through clearly in our approaches to reaching this standard. An essential factor is for each of our students to feel known. Because we value children as unique individuals, they have a comfort at school and a confidence in their abilities. This inspires children to do their best and to face challenges with optimism. I constantly am impressed, yet never surprised, by the frequency with which our students go above and beyond. Wilson teachers are successful in providing classroom environments where learning occurs with excitement and where student curiosity is promoted. Schools, like other entities, need plenty of complexities to work together well in order for success to occur. However, the complexities can be measured in ways that are simple. School should be a place where students want to be involved. At Wilson, I greet students who are smiling and eager to enter the classrooms. Through the course of the day, there should be interactions allowing academic and social growth, within a climate of respect. This productive and positive pulse readily is observed at our school.
