The "Wilson Way"

Academics -- First and Foremost. Wilson School teachers provide students with an excellent academic education, including math, science, technology, language and the arts. To prepare students for future educational success in an ever-changing world, we take a cooperative (student-teacher), problem-solving approach to the learning process, urging young people to ask questions and think critically. We partner with a variety of groups and organizations to support students' awareness of and connection to their community.

The Wilson program offers abundant opportunities for creative growth: we employ the visual and performing arts to stimulate the imagination and enhance creativity, with the goal of enabling students to reach a full understanding of their own talents and an appreciation of the talents of others.

Physical Fitness and Well-being. With superior gym and playground facilities and through a sustained commitment to a program of physical education, Wilson promotes the habits needed for physical well-being and the crucial attributes of teamwork and fair play.

A Culture Conducive to Growth. The Wilson community combines a close relationship between school and family; a dedicated and experienced faculty and staff; a diverse student body, and facilities well suited to elementary school children. All of this produces a stable and supportive environment that maximizes the opportunity for personal growth and individual and collective achievement.

Personal Responsibility. The Wilson School motto, "Make Your Mark A Good One" (MYMAGO), permeates our school environment. The Wilson faculty and staff, with the aid of intimate classroom settings, strive to instill personal and social responsibility within each student. We demonstrate and teach the values of respect, personal integrity and self-discipline, and we encourage all students to appreciate and respect both individual and cultural differences among themselves and in the world at large.
