Wilson has left a lasting imprint on the lives of our children. They are better students, better citizens and better people because of Wilson . . . Parents of two alumni The Wilson School is a supportive community for students and their families. Activities such as the “Buddy Program,” Parents’ Association, Student Council, and the many school-wide traditions are examples of this community atmosphere through which everyone can become a responsible member of the Wilson community. The Wilson School’s Buddy Program pairs early-childhood students with upper-grade students to help the school’s youngest get to know the ropes and to help the older children form caring relationships. “Buddies” often stay special friends, and it’s not unusual for parents of buddies to develop family friendships. The Wilson School Student Council allows children to develop their own sense of community and responsibility. They Trick or Treat for UNICEF, hold food drives and wrap presents for Santa’s Helpers. In ways to which they can relate, they contribute to the school community, and they learn—at an early age—that it is possible to make a difference in the lives of others. |
