You hear the kids you’ve seen since they were little give these emotionally moving speeches that tell you they’re ready for the world . . . a parent after sixth-grade graduation

At Wilson, the sixth-grade graduation ceremony is celebrated by the entire student body. It's a Wilson tradition that promotes a sense of family and connectedness. Wilson graduates share their thoughts on their years at the school, their teachers and their friendships. Not surprisingly, you’ll find their vision of the school in sync with that of parents and teachers. One recent graduate summarized it this way, “Wilson School means three important things to me: great friends, good teachers and a good education.”

The sense of community is strong at The Wilson School, even among the students: “Wilson is a great family atmosphere where everyone gets along. If there is a problem, you will get help and support, whatever you need. Wilson gives you that extra push you need to do your best.” Another graduate said, “What Wilson means to me is hard work, getting good grades and having good times. It also means making lots of friends.”

“We have been together through ups and downs, which is good because it prepares us for the real world. That is one of Wilson’s best features: it prepares you for the near and far future. It teaches you how to take the ups and how to handle the downs. I only hope that my next school is as good as Wilson.”

The warmth and caring of the faculty are evident to these graduates. “Wilson is a place where you are loved. The teachers teach you, not just because they get paid to do so, but because they care about you and your future. The teachers accept only your best. They expect you to give 110 percent. Wilson is a small school and because of this, you know everyone and you get extra attention to fulfill your needs.”

“I am proud that Wilson has prepared me for the future that lies ahead. Wilson has put three qualities in my backpack to hold onto forever: friendship, intelligence and self-esteem. This may be a large load, but it is light to carry.”
