The Wilson School is a special place. A school fully committed to educational excellence in a nurturing and caring setting....Thad Falkner, Head of School Several years ago, the Board of Trustees decided to keep Wilson small—somewhere between 190 to 200 students. The size of the school allows Wilson to maintain a single class per grade level, so the entire faculty and staff can form a close and supportive relationship with each child. The students know one another well, from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The Wilson School is in a Clayton neighborhood near Forest Park and Washington University. The core of the building is the light-filled Hal and Catherine Faught Library/Resource Center, surrounded by spacious classrooms with great expanses of windows. When you enter the building there's an immediate sense of warmth and inclusion. Since its founding as St. Louis’s first private preschool in 1913, The Wilson School has seen many changes. Through the years, the strength of the school has been the tremendous feeling of community. “We feel like a family,” one parent said. “We want all the kids to do well—just like a good family.” |
